Last week, we looked at the idea that: We are Heirs, co-heirs with Christ. It is encouraging to understand that we have the power of the Holy Spirit to be mature in our faith. Adult Christ-followers clothed in Christ and placed where we are to share the Gospel. What a novel idea that we can experience part of our inheritance each day as we fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
Today, we will see Paul change gears from his carefully crafted argument for justification by faith to a compassionate plea for the Galatians to return to the Truth of the Gospel.
Our message for today is titled: “Having a True Concern for the Church”
Our points will be:
Main Scripture: Galatians 4:8-20
Supporting Texts: 1 Corinthians 8:3, Galatians 3:1, Colossians 2:16-17, 2 Corinthians 11:23-27, Isaiah 55:10-11, Matthew 7:6, Acts 16:6, Acts 14:19-20, 2 Corinthians 4:5, Galatians 6:1, Ephesians 4:14-15, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 13:14, Galatians 1:6
Diving Deeper. After listening to today's message, consider asking yourself the following questions:
• How do you define “wasted effort?”
• Explain what Jesus is saying in Matthew 7:6.
• Are you afraid, at times, to seek reconciliation with people who have sinned? Explain.
• Is the truth more important than friendships? Explain.
• Why is it hard for someone to be zealous for the things of God in our day?
