Jen Worden joins Timiry and Emily to talk about how she does it all.
Jen Worden is the co-founder and co-CEO of Fort Collins-based Summit Cabinet Coatings, and the mother of two fabulously spirited kids named James and Lauren.
While earning her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Colorado, Jen took a year off to travel to over 30 countries on four continents, and while earning a Master of Arts degree from the University of Denver, she managed a team of 30 employees at a busy Starbucks in Colorado Springs. In 2010 she pivoted from being on the roster to teach political science at the University of Colorado and pursuing a PhD, to the unbridled world of entrepreneurship and eventually, motherhood.
She and her husband Jim are on a vigilant path toward financial independence and early retirement through real estate investing. They currently have four rentals and are working towards acquiring more both inside and outside of Colorado. When she is not maneuvering like Neo through the daily barrage of requests from children, clients, and her 13 employees, she loves to snowboard, dance like there’s no tomorrow, and sail in the Caribbean. One of her biggest life goals is to manage her business and family in such a way that they positively impact everyone whose lives they touch.
