Are you excited for the Christmas season? Or are these days a little harder for you? Many people find that the time leading up to Christmas can be challenging and the joy can be lacking—especially after experiencing a big loss in their life. It may make this season not be so merry and bright. But can I encourage you with something from God's Word? In his prophecy about Christ's coming to earth, Isaiah wrote in chapter nine, "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. [...] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given." This child was none other than Christ the Lord, Who is our Prince of Peace and has promised to carry our burdens. And I myself have experienced this joy and peace that passes all understanding that can only come from Him. And we have the privilege to share this with those that are hurting around us.
