Ephesians 4:7-10
When Peter tried to defend the Lord from those sent to arrest Him, Jesus said, “Put your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?” All of us deserve the full measure of God’s wrath and judgment for our sin. But Jesus drank the bitter cup of God’s wrath in our place, and suffered the full punishment for the sins of His people, so that we could receive the gift of eternal life.
