The resurrection is a fantastic thing. We celebrate it every year at Easter, also aptly referred to as “Resurrection Sunday”. It is the day that is designated as the day that Jesus conquered death, rising again, and emptying the tomb. Just as was the case with the door, and the good shepherd, Jesus also uses resurrection as a word picture to describe his messianic nature. This week as we look at God’s Word we are going to see Jesus declare that he is, The Resurrection and the Life.

Jesus friend Lazarus had just died in the small village in Bethany and his sisters Mary and Martha are mourning their loss. He had known that he Lazarus was ill, but intentionally waited a couple extra days before making the trek to see his friends. This was all part of his plan. A plan to bring resurrection to Lazarus because HE is the resurrection! In this passage we will see 3 rules that Jesus reveals to us regarding resurrection.
