Just as we feel lost when we have no idea which way to go locationally, we can experience a similar sense of lostness when we get knocked off course by the circumstances of life too. It is during these disorienting and discouraging times that we need to be shown the way. Thankfully, we have GPS to reorient us when we take a wrong turn or miss our exit, but when we are not sure where to go or what to do in life, we must rely on our JPS instead. Jesus has shown us that he is the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection, and the Life, and tonight we will see that he is also is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

The disciples are trying to come to terms with the fact that Jesus has told them that he was going away, going to be dying, that one of them was a traitor, that their defacto leader would deny him three times, that Satan was actively trying to destroy them, and that they would all quit the ministry. This understandably caused them to be disillusioned, discouraged, and disoriented by life. They felt lost and did not know the way to go next. Here in this passage we will see what Jesus says to encourage them as we see 3 ways that the Way tries to show them the way.
