Lazarus had died, and Mary and Martha informed Jesus about his death. Instead of tending to him right away, Jesus waited. He waited not because He didn't care, but because He chose to use the situation for the glory of God. Martha asks why He wasn't there in the first place to save His friend since she knew He had healed the sick before. Jesus informs her that “He is the resurrection and the life” and asks if she believes this. Jesus then proceeds to raise Lazarus from the dead, giving him what we’re calling “Resurrection-Life”, and promises that if we also believe in Him we will rise just as Lazarus rose. Do we believe? If you do, He is your Resurrection-Life both now and forever!
