This message is part 3 which draws our attention back to this incredible event that God has staged like a surprise party where all the saints, both living and dead will be the invited guests.
There are said to be over a thousand commandments in the New Testament for Believers to follow. Most are negative but there are many that are positive, such as, Thou shalt honor thy father and mother that it may be well with thee and thou mayest live long upon the earth (Eph. 6:1-3). Another is when Jesus told four disciples privately, what I say unto you I say unto all, watch, (Mk 13:37), this He spoke of His return. The problem is that we are so easily distracted by daily living and the fact that it has been almost two thousand years since He commanded all to watch, that we don't really take it to heart.
Salient Points: A secret kept from Jesus, Judging others, God is not like us, God’s lay-away plan, All of heaven anticipates the rapture, God is the source for everything, Watching or sleeping, He is really coming back, When God gives His word things happen, An instantaneous event, Individually responsible, All without exception, An unexpected event, Protection from a higher power, Our wrong perspective, What about God’s feelings, Take comfort, Aware of God’s ownership, When corruption puts on incorruption, Out of the box thinking, Desiring to understand God, It’s about the motive, Just do right, With His Saints, Understanding God starts with Him, A life changing grasp on reality.
Scripture: 1 Thess. 4:13-5:4, Mk. 13:32-37, 2 Ptr. 3:3-4,8-10, Mt. 24:27,43-44
