God is everything. Everything we've ever needed, do need now, or will need is given by God. He created us for Him, to be sustained through Him - to bring His glory to the earth. God created us to show what He can do with less when less is wholeheartedly dependent on Him than with more when more is in rebellion against Him. This is God's world, designed God's way, for God's glory and yes - for our good too.
