Gracious God, on this Mother’s Day we remember your Son born of a human mother in order to save us.

For mothers who carried us into this world and shaped our lives,

For all who have been like a mother to us,

For their gentle devotion and love, endless patience and prayers, and faithful teaching of the way of salvation in Jesus Christ,

We thank you.

Bless their efforts. May they realize the importance of their work. When their hearts ache, comfort them. When they feel helpless, remind them you are in control of all things for the good of all. Reassure them of your promise to never leave or forsake them and their families.

Help us find ways to express our love to them through words of love and deeds of kindness. Amen.
