ABOUT THIS MESSAGE:
The disciples had placed their hopes in Jesus, but those hopes had seemed to die with Jesus on Golgotha. For three days, followers of Jesus dealt with dashed hopes. How could Jesus be the Messiah if he was dead? What they had forgotten, though, and what the Scriptures had always plainly said, was that the certain hope of eternal life is founded upon the sacrificial death and victorious resurrection of the Messiah. Today, God encourages us to set aside our wants and cultural expectations that often color Scripture, and simply see how God restores our hope by raising Jesus from the dead and pointing us back to his promises.
