Journalist, educator, and historian Ernie Deane is remembered by his daughter, Frances "Fran" Deane Alexander. Ernie Deane was a press officer for Gen. George Patton during World War II and at the Nuremberg Trials after the war, a newspaper columnist, a journalism professor, a director of the War Eagle Fair, a champion of historic preservation, and a community activist.
