He went alone No one else could… No one else would. There was no one to help Him, Even the Father turned away. His friends all deserted Him, some even denied Him… His family stood back Betrayed by one whom He had loved, And rejected by all that He had come to save. Still, He shouldered the load that we could not bear, And paid the price that we cannot possibly comprehend. He went alone to our punishment, Alone to our doom. And ALONE He satisfied the justice of God… ALONE He paid the ransom… ALONE He appeased the awful wrath of the offended creator. And when He was finished, He alone pushed open the gates of the city of God… And He alone walked the streets of that place where no human foot had ever tread… And He alone took His place at the right hand of the Majesty on High, Seated upon the throne that has for all of eternity belonged to HIM ALONE!!
