Being a Christian does not make one perfect, no, not at all. Being a Christian does make one perfectly forgiven, but the rest is a daily process. The journey of becoming more Christ-like is indeed that: a journey. Paul is convinced that this journey, which we call “sanctification” in theological terms, will continue throughout the lives of the believers in Philippi.
