Along we roll, ever closer to the WEIRD holiday season, and this week brings perhaps the wildest, strangest stories of the whole year on the show. Maybe!
Phil’s up first, with some AI “deepfake” musical news, including a sample of computer-generated tunes! Said robo-songs prove to be, by turns, fascinating, baffling, and deeeeeply creepy! And the good doctor presents us with quite the modern conundrum: if a computer cooks up a song IN THE STYLE of a living, human singer…is it theft? A tribute? It’s a hunk’a’hunka burning ethical grey-area, people!
Next, Shaun continues his Phil-frustrating theme of food and drink-based deaths to honor November: this time, it’s a mid-aughts tale of one terrible and tenacious wife hellbent on axing hubby number four! Trouble is, our blushing bride is not…she’s not GIFTED at murder. Alas, what she lacks in killer instinct, she more than makes up for in stick-to-it attitude. Of course, what she has there is ALSO offset by downright idiotic levels of greed, sooooo it’s a whole lotta dark fun!
AND, as ever, we’ve got a fresh Covidiot of the Week, six rapid-fire odd-but-true news stories in Three for the Road, and Phil’s Trainwreck Headlines to boot. Oh, and a fresh new game! Wow, what a lineup! GET IN HERE!
