Emotions are one of God's great gifts to us. Emotions are a big part of our humanity. We have to be careful though that we are not controlled by our emotions. As belivers, we are to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. We are to make decisions based on the principles of scripture. If we let our emotions control us and our decisions, they may lead us to place God never intended for us to be.
