Matthew 8:3

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man, “I am willing, “he said, “Be clean! “Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

An ancient culture if you had leprosy and the wind was behind your back than any other person would have to stand 150 feet away from you. That’s brutal! But in the reading today, we learn how radically different Jesus reacted to a man running down a mountain after him.

Today’s scripture reminds us that no matter how far gone we think we are from God or that he would never be willing to heal me of this awful thing I did, the God of the Bible always reaches his hand back out to us when we kneel down before Him.

Coming before Jesus is it a simple as walking towards him and nailing down and saying the words, “Lord if you’re willing, you can make me clean.” it’s never a matter of whether or not he’s able it’s a matter of us first being willing to give him the opportunity.
