In today’s episode I am joined by my dear sister Lauren Eliz Love. Lauren is an entrepreneur, spiritual mentor and earth medicine facilitator who helps women to heal chronic health issues, rewrite their past traumas and build the legacy of their dreams. She has transmuted her own deep spiritual initiations into medicine for the collective and she has an abundance of wisdom that she shares through her digital courses and programs.
In this episode Lauren tells us about the journey that led her to the plant medicine path. She explains how she went through a period of time where she was taking a variety of pharmaceutical medications to deal with her mental health issues, which led her to her first experience with sacred mushrooms. She also tells us how she was at the height of her business while behind the scenes dealing with debilitating chronic health issues that hindered her ability to complete simple daily tasks. Lauren details how she made the decision to take a spiritual sabbatical and move to Sedona, AZ for an entire year to study deeply with plant medicine and heal her body. Through her plant medicine study, she came to the realization that her physical and mental health issues were rooted in the trauma that she had experienced as a child. Lauren tells us how she found the deepest healing of her life through ceremonial work with Ayahuasca, Kamba and Bufo.
We also get into a really important conversation on the topic of cultural appropriation and the ethics of white people sitting with and serving plant medicines. We examine how we can do our best to remain in integrity and right relationship with indigenous medicines and how to support and uplift indigenous people. Lauren discusses the surprising and unexpected circumstances that led her to facilitating some of the same medicines that helped her heal her life, and the backlash she has received for sharing these aspects of herself online. We also talk about what to look for in a plant medicine facilitator and what to do if you are feeling called to facilitate plant medicine experiences yourself. The path to becoming a facilitator of earth medicine is a deep initiatory path that is not for everyone. Lauren discusses some of the lessons and initiations that she has experienced that have deepened her awareness and ability to hold safe space for others. This is one of my favorite episodes to date and I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I did!
