This episode explores burnout — and the emotional exhaustion, low mood, and loss of direction that often accompany it — from a psychological and reflective perspective.
Rather than offering quick fixes, I look at how burnout develops over time through patterns of overextension, chronic stress, and unexamined expectations. When mental and emotional resources are depleted for long enough, even small demands can feel overwhelming, and thinking can become increasingly negative or rigid.
Drawing on ideas from cognitive and therapeutic approaches, including CBT-informed thinking and hypnotherapy, I explore how understanding your internal patterns can create space for change. This includes noticing how stress is compartmentalised, how self-talk shapes mood, and how exhaustion can distort perspective.
Hypnotherapy is discussed as one possible way of gently shifting perception and creating distance from unhelpful mental loops — not as a replacement for professional care, but as a supportive tool that can help restore a sense of internal balance and agency.
This episode may resonate if you:
feel emotionally and mentally drained
struggle with motivation or low mood
feel stuck in repetitive, negative thinking
want to understand burnout without self-blame
The intention here is not to push optimism, but to offer clarity, validation, and a more compassionate framework for recovery. Healing from burnout is rarely linear, but understanding what’s happening can make the path forward feel more navigable.
