Earlier this week, the health fraternity commemorated World Haemophilia Day (17 April 2023). The theme for this year is “Access for All: Prevention of Bleeds as the Global Standard of Care”. This day is celebrated by haemophilia organisations around the world, and gives them an opportunity to increase awareness of haemophilia.
Haemophilia is a genetic disorder that affects the blood's ability to clot. This results in excessive bleeding from even minor injuries and even spontaneous bleeding in certain cases.
