We have relationships with food that are used to help us to cope and get through the rough times and celebrate the good times. When we close ourselves off to different views, we miss out on additional opportunities to learn. Having an "Open Mind" allows us to strengthen our minds and adapt to change with less friction. Building a sustainable healthy lifestyle requires a lot of hard work. The changes you'll have to make will require an "Open Mind" to help you better handle opposition and adversity.
