What does it really mean to hear God?
In the Bible, hearing is never passive. To shema is to listen in a way that leads to response, obedience, and life. In this opening sermon of our summer series, we explore the ancient prayer of the Shema — “Hear, O Israel” — and discover why God’s people have always been shaped not just by what they hear, but by whose voice they attend to.
In a noisy world full of competing voices, this message invites us to practise attention again — to listen for the voice that gives life, and to respond with trust.
