Highlight – Psalms Chapter 15 New Living Translation
A psalm of David.
1 Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?2 Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.3 Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.4 Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts.5 Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.
Explain – The Psalmist, David, described those that can truly worship in God’s sanctuary, who may enter God’s presence. Those who lead blameless lives with sincere hearts can.
Apply – We can learn that to truly worship God with a clean heart we must submit our will over to His will, abiding in Him as He abides in us.
Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Luke 9:23 ESV And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Hebrews 11:6 ESV And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Romans 12:1 ESV I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
John 15:7 ESV If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
Matthew 24:13 ESV But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Respond – Lord, thank You so much for the living abundant life I have in You. Help me Lord to fully submit my will to You daily, to follow You faithfully and obediently, consistently and continually forever. I pray for those that do not truly know You Lord, help me to be an effective servant to share Your Truth. Amen,
