HEAR Journaling - Psalms Chapter 30
Highlight – Psalms Chapter 30:11-12 New Living Translation
A psalm of David. A song for the dedication of the Temple.
11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, 12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!
Explain – David the Psalmist, announced that the Lord had turned his mourning into joyful dancing. God had clothed him with joy that he might sing praises to Him and not be silent. David pledged to give thanks to God forever.
Apply – The Lord surely will change our mourning into joy. We may have to experience a tome of mourning, but He is ever faithful and will retore our joy. We should not hesitate to praise and worship Him even in our times of grief, He will provide comfort and peace that does pass all understanding.
John 16:22 ESV So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Psalm 16:11 ESV You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 28:7 ESV The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
Acts 2:28 ESV You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
John 15:11 ESV These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
1 Peter 1:8 ESV Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
Philippians 4:4 ESV Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
Respond – Lord, thank You for turning my mourning into Your joy! I strive to follow You faithfully and obediently, always forever. I pray for those that do not know You, Lord, may they experience You like never before to a saving faith in You. Amen.
