On this solo ep, I’m on my rock-and-roll girlboss shit, recording from my new lil studio apartment (not the van, mama, we upgraded). I talk about what it’s like learning how to have a home after being on the road with my wheelchair-bound soulmate Bonnie, missing her like crazy, and how we’re prepping to head back to New York. We get into separating art from the artist, living with conflicted reverence for the messed-up men who’ve made the media that raised us (Alfred Hitchcock, Father John Misty, I’m looking at you).
I also touch on:
the beauty of intentional gifts and DIY collage art
the healing power of clogging
school trauma (aka why I still have nightmares about algebra)
crying at a wedding and crying at a concert
how Bonnie has a fuller social life than me
and what it means to move forward, even with a broken heart, a broke wallet, and some broken bones from capitalism.
It’s chaotic. It’s cozy. It’s a window-washed ep of spirals, softness, and revelations.
Keywords: trauma podcast, comedy podcast, solo episode, Kylie Vincent, queer comedian, dog mom, Father John Misty, Alfred Hitchcock, art vs artist, ADHD living, vanlife to apartment, Gen Z podcast, Bonnie the dog, neurodivergent creativity, emotional support animal, cancel culture comedy, millennial burnout, sad girl standup
