Matthew 13:10
10 His disciples came and asked him, Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?
Matthew 13:15 For the hearts of these people are hardened, and their ears cannot hear, and they have closed their eyes- so their eyes cannot see, and their ears cannot hear, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.'
Psalm 119:70 Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.

Zechariah 7:12 They made their hearts as hard as stone, so they could not hear the instructions or the messages that the LORD of Heaven's Armies had sent them by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. That is why the LORD of Heaven's Armies was so angry with them.
zechhariah 7:8-10Â
8Then this message came to Zechariah from the LORD:Â
9 This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies says: Judge fairly, and show mercy and kindness to one another.Â
10 Do not oppress widows, orphans, foreigners, and the poor. And do not scheme against each other.
Zechariah 7:11 Your ancestors refused to listen to this message. They stubbornly turned away and put their fingers in their ears to keep from hearing.
John 8:41-44 NLT
44 No, you are imitating your real father." They replied, "We aren't illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.
42 Jesus told them, If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me.Â
43 Why can't you understand what I am saying? It's because you can't even hear me!Â
44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Acts 7:57 Then they put their hands over their ears and began shouting. They rushed at him.
Act 7:58Â And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.Â
2 Timothy 4:3-4
3 For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear
4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths.
Hebrews 5:11-14 NLT
Hebrews 5:11 There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don't seem to listen.Â
12] You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God's word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.Â
13] For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn't know how to do what is right.Â
14] Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong.
