Instead, they provide us with the opportunity for repentance and turning from our sin and idols. Behold, the day of the Lord is coming- -Therefore, beloved.., be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation.- This we do, through faith in Christ our Saviour, who -was crushed for our iniquities- upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace.-
