I saw you just the other day
in a yearbook photo online
and it all came rushing backto me
just how very much you meant to me
but you were never mine...
never mind.
You were my
girl next door
but you were
so much more
than that cliche...
you captured me
from the 7th grade
till I was out of school
but loving you
could never be.
more than just a dream.
I lingered for a
while back then
recalling those
as i sat entranced
all over agin
by your lovely gaze
staring out at me
with the hint of a smile.
From some
long lost page
of my youthful days
now yellowed with age
and crazed with
sorrow and rage...
Then I simply deleted
a girl that i
once needed
that time had re-bestowed
with no reason
for reminiscing
on all those days
that i spent wishing
for sweet love
I'd never know.
You were just a relic
in love's tomb disturbed
by my redisovery
but there was
little to treasure
nothing offered
me pleasure
in my Heart-eology
Yeah, there was
little to treasure
and nothing
offered me pleasure
in my heart-eology...............
