In this solo episode, I get really honest about what's been showing up for me lately. 💛 No guest, no script — just me, sitting with what is, and sharing it from the heart. 🤍

I've been caught in the loop of comparing myself to others 😔 — that quiet, heavy feeling of wondering why I'm not further along, why my life doesn't look like everyone else's. It came up strongly at a lunch recently, surrounded by people, and yet feeling so deeply unseen by myself. ✨

I open up about the friendships that feel a little one-sided right now 💔, the dear friend I'm missing and dreaming about, and the gentle but powerful reminder I received to stop searching for what I need in the external world — and start giving it to myself. 🌸

I also get really real about sugar 🍫 — how it shows up as comfort when I'm feeling low, and the quiet victory of sitting with the craving and saying to myself, 'this shall pass.' And it did. 🙏

This episode is tender and unfinished, and I think that's exactly why it matters. 💫 Not every chapter has an answer yet — and that's okay. I'm learning to trust the journey, nurture myself, and honour where I am right now. 🌱

I first wrote this book back in 2007, and at the time, I truly believed I was living its wisdom. But over the years, I slowly lost my way — trying to fit into the expectations of marriage and society, rather than honouring my true self.

When my world was turned upside down in 2019, I found myself in unfamiliar territory… finally experiencing the vulnerability, triggers, and spiral journey I had once only written about in theory.

Seven years on, I reflect on what it really means to move from reaction to reflection — learning to sit with discomfort, feel it fully, and trust the clarity and alignment that comes on the other side.

Pauletta shares her remarkable journey from Liberia, West Africa, through a refugee camp in Guinea, and eventually to building a new life in Adelaide, Australia in 2010. She opens up about the life-changing moment of arriving in a completely new culture, the deep grief of losing her beloved brother in 2019, and the quiet strength she draws from her Christian faith.

From her kitchen bench to the markets, Pauletta also shares the heartwarming story behind her natural hair and skincare business, Crown of Fine Gold — born from a mother’s desire to care for her daughter Elizabeth’s Afro hair the way it was lovingly cared for back home, using simple, chemical-free ingredients like rosemary, olive oil, and aloe vera.

This conversation touched my heart deeply. It’s a beautiful reflection on belonging, identity, community, and what it truly means to feel seen.

Whilst revising My Way to Happiness, I discovered something I'd forgotten I'd written 18 years ago—the story of a headache that disappeared the moment I spoke my truth.

I was waiting for Shauna at her piano lesson, ringing my mum just to fill the time. But as I started really talking—deep, honest sharing—the pounding headache simply vanished.

'Mum, my headache just disappeared,' I said, stunned.
She laughed. 'That's what happens when you stop holding everything in.'

The headache wasn't just a headache. It was unrecognised frustration, unnamed resentment, invalidation of myself—all manifesting as physical pain. The moment I recognised it, named it, brought it into the light, it lost its power.

I wrote about this in 2007. Now, 20 years later, I'm giving people what saved me that day: a voice.
