In this finale episode, I did a synopsis of each episode with each and every one of the wonderful guests, friends, and ally who have joined me this season. Each of these stories and life journeys has helped me look at mine with more curiosity and empathy, elements that we can all use more of as we walk and carve our own unique and beautiful paths. To all my listeners, avid and new, THANK YOU. There is no pod without you. Your time and support have been the greatest gift that I will cherish and use it to nourish my soul whenever my creative soul gets weary.

Hi Lovelies, today's episode features a solo session, of me sharing and processing through something that has been hanging on my heart these weeks. Rita Lim-Solhaug is a globetrotter whose journey from Singapore to Norway in 2010 with her husband, Gisle, and their younger son, Gregory, sparked an evolving love for food and cultural exchange. 

Her immigrant journey later saw her moving to Florida followed by Texas, where she continues to bring her love for good and people together through volunteering with groups supporting other immigrants, mummy groups and eventually a cooking club which became her anchor and support system. As she beautifully puts it: “In a foreign land, these friends became our family.”

Living across diverse cultures has deepened her understanding of food, inspiring her to enhance her cooking skills. She delights in sharing Singaporean cuisine with friends, weaving tales about the rich food culture and the stories behind each dish. 

In this wholesome and relatable conversation we shared, we discussed:  

• Rita’s love for cooking and her favorite dish 
• How cooking became her respite as she navigated through the early days of migrating across continents for her young family
• The moments when her love for cooking became bigger than herself and morphed into cnnections, friendships and communities

On today’s episode, I'm joined by a fellow Singaporean, one who claims herself to be "a very normal human and mama", but yet, there's something about the way she discussed and processed the things we touched on in our conversation that I saw a unique sparkle of a spirit alongside a healthy dose of stoicism that intrigued me. 

Jess Goh Wee Teng is an art and crafts explorer who finds inner peace through creative expression.  For Jess, art is more than a hobby; it’s a way of life that brings balance and deeper connections.  Since 2017, she has inspired others through workshops that emphasize being present and engaged in the artistic process. Featured on MediaCorp’s “Get Fit with Me,” Jess also shares her passion as a music and movement educator.

We discussed:  

• Her love for art and how art led her to finding a community of like-minded artists and freelance work as an art instructor getting to do what she loves often
• What maintaining a loving and healthy marriage where there is physical distance involved taught her about life, choices and, friendships 
• Concepts of accepting help and how different friendships can serve as our lifeline throughout different stages of our lives

Lina is a certified parent coach, a positive discipline parent educator and the founder of The Heartful Mama LLC. She is on a mission to support parents and caregivers of spirited and highly sensitive children, raise their kids with a lens rooted in nervous system science, brain development, attachment science and emotional intelligence. She is deeply passionate about bringing authentic harmony back into the home environment, where every family member is seen, heard and loved for who they are, and where parents can reclaim their confidence and joy in their role as the peaceful, benevolent safe leader in the home. She currently resides in Austin TX with her beloved husband and 2 kids.

Join me and my beloved friend KJ as she returns to this space for an intimate, vulnerable, and important conversation where she shares details, observations, and insights through one of the scariest and most traumatic health struggles she has lived through these past months.

I'm beyond elated to see KJ return to the pink of health and at the time of this episode being published, she is in "the land of her people", as she so beautifully termed, returning to do the most meaningful and soulful work of conducting wellness retreats.

On today's episode, I'm joined by a special individual whom I shared an almost instant affinity with, someone I had the honor to experience an in-person recording for the first time back in our homes in Singapore, and someone I want in my circle for a long time to come if she'll have me. 

Rae Fung is a speaker and coach who guides rising leaders to own their voice. She went from being the girl with low self-esteem who didn’t have a voice, to now having trained and spoken to over 5000 people globally. With over a decade of experience as a communicator on stage and online, she considers it her mission to create a world where everyone feels safe to speak up and own their voice. When she’s not coaching, you can find her exploring a new country or looking for her next adventure!
