A race example of easy continuity in my work. Knowledge and understanding are infectious. Worse still, they make you a willing infection vector. 

I understand this character's hatred more than anything else I think I've written about previously. Not to some bizarre monster, but to the concepts and forces that made my mind simultaneously so limited, and yet so inquisitive.  I hope you are not familiar with this hatred, but if you are, you have my sympathies.
