Hearts Beat but shouldn't be beaten

by cruel words or false promises

hearts soar, but shouldn't be crippled

by the cut of shoulder

blades making thier exit

A heart is a fragile thing

like a tiny bird

cradled in the hand of a Gorilla

it can be crushed beyond repair.

In the hands of men and women

who are far more tender sadly

hearts can also be broken

every heart carries

the scars from such

pummeling in the name

of loves that

wither and die far too early

unfaithfulness is toxic

to a loving heart

it tears the muscles

by the very act of pulling away

from the lust and attention that it was denied

for another heart also cheated on.

Divorce is starvation of a heart once full

One can watch both hearts grow anorexic

becoming like raisins to

the thoughts of any future love

Separation allows two to

take some time to reconsider

when love at its finest

became like a chainsaw

tearing through what

were buttered promises

with vicious teeth severing

two hearts for too long.

the lack of sex and desire by

one partner to another

does not come from the heart itself

but from other parts denied and

yet it hardens the heart

by the sheer rejection

of the flesh of two that once were one

Walk carefully in the

chambers of another's heart

It can be your palace

or a wretched hovel

where doors slam forever

and all that will be left

will be the graffiti of your grief

scribbled on the walls

of your own heart.

Hearts are akin to

Siamese twins and the separation

of such is incredibly painful leaving an

emptiness at your side

that will shadow and haunt your soul

until you draw your last breath

though there are valid reasons

for to hearts to part

it is a critical surgery that

comes with many complications

be sure that there is no

other way to heal the breech that

has wounded his or her heart

and then wield that scalpel carefully

Cut out only the remnants

of what you alone find cancerous

and leave the rest for

other love's to abide in

this is the act of granting

mercy for what you both once knew
