Doubt
Doubt is a normal feeling everyone has.
Feelings are indicators not dictators.
Ignoring and irrational are unhelpful responses to feelings.
Faith that hasn’t wrestled with doubt is faulty and fragile
Heaven starts on the inside.
How do we deal with the normal feelings of doubt in a healthy way?
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.
Now Thomas one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”
Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
The eleven disciples went to the hill in Galilee where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshipped him, even though some of them doubted.
Doubt doesn’t disqualify us from God’s love or His mission, it makes us normal.
Doubt, doubt by asking it the same honest questions it’s asking you.
Faith:
Is God good?
God is big enough to handle our doubts.
