Drifting rarely feels dramatic. It feels like getting busy, skipping the hard parts, letting the gospel sit on a shelf while shame and temptation take the wheel. Hebrews 2 won’t let us call that “no big deal.” We open with the chapter’s warning about neglecting salvation, then we get specific about what it looks like to pay closer attention before your heart slides into fear, numbness, or quiet unbelief.
