Hebrews 6 has comfort that steadies you and a warning that sobers you, sometimes in the same breath. We sit down as pastors and work straight through the chapter, starting with the call to move beyond spiritual infancy and press on to Christian maturity. That does not mean leaving Jesus behind. It means building on Him as the foundation, refusing to settle for a faith that never grows, and learning how doctrine and theology are meant to draw us closer to Christ rather than distract us.

Then we take on the passage that causes so much fear and debate: the severe warning about falling away. Does Hebrews 6 teach that a true believer can lose salvation? Finally, we end where Hebrews ends: with assurance rooted in the character of God. God cannot lie. His promises are certain. He swears by Himself because there is no one greater, and that makes our hope steadfast and secure. Jesus is our forerunner and our high priest forever, and Hebrews calls Him the anchor of the soul when doubts, trials, and drift threaten to pull us off course.
