We can have such a strong desire for what we want or what makes sense to us that we will set aside the very commands or instruction of God.

In this teaching, Mark uses the story of Balaam and his donkey from Numbers 22 to illustrate that when we keep our eyes on God and His nature, we can see more clearly what will honor Him. If we don't, we can lead ourselves towards our own destruction — even with good intentions.
