Marian Adewunmi Yesufu is a Nigerian/Ghanian-American Comedian. She’s the founder of Black Women in Comedy Festival and the Artistic Director of Soul Sista Comedy. In this week’s episode, we pay homage to the greats: Whoopi, Monique, Viola, and Cicely, discussing that because of them the pressure of perfection is off and we can just play. The laugh battle turns into a healing coughing fit. (Don’t worry everything is alright!) and learn that Santa’s “Ho-ho-ho’s” is a reflection of his existential crisis. Remember, if you like Let’s Get Silly, subscribe and give us five stars. Now let’s get silly!
More about Marian…
Before quarantine she ran three shows at legendary comedy spots such as UCB, The Pack Theater, and Tao Comedy Studio in Los Angeles. She is an alumni of the CBS Diversity Showcase and Maude Writer at the Upright Citizens Brigade. She is currently collaborating with the brilliant folks at Impro Theater. She is also known for her fun and intersectional class, Black Musical Improv, that takes you through a Blackherstory perspective of musical improv. She will continue to teach this class through the end of the year virtually through WhoHaha.
