  • Ep 8. Did Somebody Say Graduation?

Well, well, well… look who finally decided to show up

After disappearing for what felt like 84 business years, I’m back on the mic, and I have NEWS.....

    Your girl is graduating. 🎓

    Class of 2026, baby. FINALLY.

In this little comeback episode, I’m catching you up on where I’ve been, what I’ve been up to, and why I basically went missing while trying to get my degree across the finish line.

School is DONE. Graduation is loading. First Class is being claimed. And yes, you may now begin sending graduation gifts. I don’t make the rules. Haha!

I’m officially back, and honestly… let’s see how good things get from here.

See you Friday for Uncovering Love Fridays. ❤️

  • Ep 7. Valary on Hope When You Can't Feel It

For the days when life feels a little too heavy. ❤️

September is Suicide Prevention Month, and this month on Hello, Val Speaking, I want to do something a little different.

I want you to feel seen.

Not fixed. Not lectured. Not given a motivational speech. Just… seen.

Because sometimes you don't need someone to tell you how to live your life. Sometimes you just need somebody to remind you that you're still here, that you're allowed to be tired, that you can take your time, and that one really painful chapter doesn't have to be the end of your story.

So throughout this month, I'll be sharing little reminders, conversations and reassurances for anyone who might need them.

And if you're having a hard time and you just need someone to talk to, you can always reach me at [email protected]. You don't have to have the perfect words. You don't have to explain everything. Just write.

I may not have all the answers, but I'll listen.

And if you're listening to this episode today, please remember:

You don't have to figure out your whole life today.

    Just stay.

We'll take it one day at a time. ❤️

  • Uncovering Love Fridays | "It’s Casual” So, Why Does Your Heart Suddenly Want More?

You said it was casual. They said it was casual. Everybody understood the assignment… until somebody’s heart decided to freelance. 😭

Because sometimes you genuinely enter something knowing exactly what it is, and then somewhere along the way, the feelings change. Suddenly you're wondering whether you actually want more, whether you've simply become attached, or whether you're just having a very unfortunate encounter with your own emotions.

And what happens when you're no longer on the same page?

This Friday, we're uncovering that awkward little space between “I'm fine with casual” and “Okay… so why do I suddenly care this much?”

Maybe catching feelings isn't the problem. Maybe it's what we choose to do once we realise they're there.

  • Ep 6. Is It Just Me, or Is the Air Getting Thicker by Day?

I don't know if it's just me, but lately it feels like everything requires a little more effort than it used to. Not necessarily in a dramatic, everything-is-falling-apart kind of way. Just... heavier. Like there's something in the air that I can't quite put my finger on.

Maybe it's adulthood. Maybe it's comparison. Maybe we're consuming too much, thinking too much, planning too much, and actually living somewhere in between all of that.

Or maybe I'm just tired. Lol

Either way, I sat down and thought about it for a while. So if you've been feeling a little strange lately too, come sit with me for a bit.

Maybe the air really is getting thicker.

  • Ep. 5 Are Traditional Gender Roles Inherently Bad? Or Are They a Problem When Forced and One Sided?

Maybe traditional gender roles aren't the problem.

Maybe the problem begins when we stop asking whether the people living them actually chose them.

There's nothing inherently wrong with a woman wanting to be a homemaker, or a man wanting to be the provider. There's also nothing wrong with a woman wanting a career, a man wanting to stay home with the children, or two people deciding they'll split everything between them. People want different lives, and I think that's okay.

But what happens when "this is what works for us" becomes "this is what every man and woman should be doing"? When tradition becomes an excuse for control, when sacrifice is expected from only one person, or when we're made to feel like choosing differently means we've somehow failed at being a man or a woman?

Maybe the real question isn't whether a relationship looks traditional or modern. Maybe it's whether both people are free to choose, free to speak, free to change their minds, and still feel respected in the process.

Anyway... that's where my head is at.

    What do you think?

  • Uncovering Love Fridays | Can Someone Love You and Still Be Wrong for You?

Can someone genuinely love you and still be completely wrong for you?

We talk a lot about love, but not enough about what happens when love and compatibility don't come together. Because someone can love you, choose you, care about you, and still not be someone you can actually build a life with.

In this episode, I'm getting into the uncomfortable space between loving someone and actually being good together — the difference between potential and reality, being chosen and being compatible, compromise and losing yourself, and why sometimes a relationship can be real without being right.

And honestly? I don't think every breakup needs a villain.

Sometimes two people can love each other and still realise they're walking in completely different directions.

So... can someone love you and still be wrong for you?

    Let's talk about it.

    CHAPTERS:

00:00 — Can Someone Love You and Still Be Wrong for You?

02:15 — Do They Love Me, or Are We Actually Compatible?

  • Ep 4. It's Too Many Voices in My Head, Which One Do I Follow?

Some days, the hardest conversation isn't the one you're having with other people.

It's the one you're having with yourself.

One voice says start. Another says wait. One says rest. Another says you're wasting time. Before you know it, you've spent the entire day negotiating with your own mind.

In this episode, Val unpacks what it feels like to live inside that mental noise—the invisible exhaustion of overthinking, the pressure to make the "right" decision, and the quiet hope of hearing your own voice again.

No five-step plan. No perfect answers.

    Just an honest conversation.

Because maybe the goal isn't to silence every voice...

Maybe it's learning which one deserves your attention.

  • Uncovering Love Fridays | Intro: Before We Talk About Love

Before we can talk about love, we have to question everything we think we know about it.

In the very first episode of Uncovering Love Fridays, Val introduces the series by exploring where our ideas about love come from, why borrowed opinions can quietly become our own, and why curiosity might be a better place to begin than certainty.

This isn't a dating guide, a relationship manual, or a collection of answers.

    It's a conversation.

  • Ep 3. Everyone's Not Okay. Now What?

In this episode of Hello, Val Speaking, Val reflects on the invisible weight people carry and the quiet realization that no one is immune to life's complexities. Rather than offering solutions, the conversation explores compassion, resilience, and what it means to continue living when everyone seems to be fighting battles that often go unseen. Sometimes the most meaningful conversations don't end with answers, they begin with better questions.
