John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your

advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the

Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send

Him to you.

● Helper means: comforter, counselor, standby,

intercessor, advocate, & strengthener.

John 16:12 “I still have many things to say to you, but

you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the

Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;

for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever

He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to

come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is

Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father

has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine

and declare it to you.

● The Holy Spirit will lead you into truth, He will

teach you, He will shine understanding upon God’s

Word.

1 Cor. 2

● The Holy Spirit will tell you things to come.

● He will glorify the Lord. If what you are hearing

doesn’t glorify the Lord then you can deduce that

you are not listening to the Spirit of Truth.

John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another

Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the

Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because

it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him,

for He dwells with you and will be in you.

● The Holy Spirit moves in at salvation

○ Ez. 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a

new spirit within you; I will take the heart of

stone out of your flesh and give you a heart

of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and

cause you to walk in My statutes, and you

will keep My judgments and do them.

● The Holy Spirit comes upon you when you’re

baptized in the Holy Spirit...or filled with the Spirit.

○ Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when

the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you

shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in

all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the

earth.”

○ Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts 9, Acts 10, Acts 19 they

were filled with the Spirit (the Holy Spirit

came upon them) and they began to speak

with tongues.

Our Helper is Multi-Dimensional

● In us & on us, to help us & to help others

● He will show you how to live for God & He will

empower you to walk with God.
