"We do not handle suffering; suffering handles us in deep and mysterious ways." Richard Rohr Today on The Everything Considered Podcast I had the honor of having Jean Felts and Pat Rudd on the show! Jean and Pat are both mothers that have lost children due to substance use. Both women have courageously stepped into roles that now provide support for parents and siblings that have suffered a similar loss. Today we discuss grief, the afterlife, the loss of a child (any age), overdose, grief support, and addiction. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Helpi... is a local group for grieving parents. Helping Parents Heal is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting bereaved parents. Through support and resources offered, they aspire to help individuals become “Shining Light Parents”—meaning a shift from a state of emotional heaviness to one of hopefulness and greater peace of mind. HPH goes a step beyond other groups by allowing the open discussion of spiritual experiences and afterlife evidence—in a non-dogmatic way. HPH affiliate groups welcome everyone regardless of religious or non-religious background and encourage open dialog. A wealth of information and resources can be found on their main website at https://www.helpingparentsheal.org/ Grief Recovery After Substance Passing GRASP is for those who have lost someone due to substance use.
