Jeff Dorson is the Executive Director of the Humane Society of Louisiana.
After being hit by Hurricane Laura in August, the area is still under
mandatory evacuation orders. On top of coordinating multiple disaster
relief efforts, delivering supplies, transporting animals to safety, the
Humane Society works with their staff, sponsors, volunteers and other no-
kill partners in other parts of the country to make life-saving transports of
displaced pets happen.
Working incredibly long-hours under less than ideal conditions, the staff
and their partners, led by Jessica Cameron, have successfully moved more
1,000 animals out of harm's way before and after Hurricane Laura made
landfall.
