A well known pollster says the Democratic Party should be "very worried" after yesterday's Midterm elections.
The Democrats flipped the House of Representatives, while the Republicans increased their majority in the Senate by a margin of three seats.
Speaking with Mike Hosking this morning, pollster Henry Olsen said Republicans are rallying behind the President.
He said American people were moving in a very clear direction ahead of the Midterms.
"People outside the major cities wanted to move for Trump and the Republicans and people in the upper income suburbs and cities wanted to move against him and that's what happened last night."
He said this is the second election that has followed this trend.
"Democrats become the party of the educated and the upscale and the Republicans become the party of the working class."
Trump continues to be a "very divisive figure" but that's where his strength lies and what could see him win a second election, Olsen said.
"He is popular enough that he could very well re-win the election. His strength and his support in the Mid-West has remained strong despite Democrats strong efforts and if I were the Democrats I would be very worried today."
"Trump is an incredibly unconventional and an incredibly successful politician - the guy's for real."
