What do you actually want?
Not what feels realistic. Not what you already know how to achieve. Not what fear, comparison, or your current circumstances tell you is possible.
In this episode of Her Creative Path, we explore what happens when we start editing our dreams before we’ve even given ourselves the chance to fully imagine them.
I share some of the big dreams I’ve been almost afraid to say out loud, the difference between dreaming and planning, and why not knowing how doesn’t mean you need to make the dream smaller.
And if you don’t know what you want yet, there’s space for you here too.
Dreaming is exploration. A dream isn’t a contract.
At the end of the episode, grab your notebook and dream with me for ten minutes.
No editing.
No planning.
No asking how.
Just dreaming.

What happens when you return to something youcreated years ago — and realise you have more to say?
After revisiting and evolving my poem TwoDangerous Words, a friend told me that seeing me change something I had already published gave her permission to evolve her own work.
And it left me with a question:
Are we allowed to change something after we’ve called it finished?
In this first bonus episode of Her Creative Path, I explore our relationship with finished work.
Why changing something doesn’t make the original version wrong, and why sometimes the most meaningful choice is to leave something exactly as it is.
The permission isn’t that you should change your old work.
The permission is that you get to decide.

This episode is for the female artist who is beginning to wonder if some of the things she believes about what's possible for her were never really her beliefs to begin with.
In this first episode of the new chapter of Her Creative Path, I’m taking you back to where my own creative path began — from being an eight-year-old girl who dreamed of becoming an artist, to being told I couldn’t make a living from it, and the years I spent believing that was simply true.
I share how creativity found its way back into the centre of my life, the dreams I began writing down during an uncertain chapter in 2020, and the question that eventually made me look differently at a belief I had carried since childhood.
We’ll talk about the stories we inherit about creativity, success and what a “real” career is supposed to look like — and what can happen when we begin questioning the answers we were given before we knew we were allowed to disagree.
And I’ll share the evolved version of my poem Two Dangerous Words, which became deeply intertwined with the making of this episode.
This isn't about pretending that choosing a creative path is easy or knowing exactly where yours will lead.
It’s about giving yourself permission to ask a different question.
Wildflower, what have you accepted as an answer that might be worth questioning?

Have you been told that art isn't a real career?
That creativity should stay a hobby?
That dreaming bigger isn't practical?
Or maybe no one ever said those things out loud, but you simply learned to believe them.
What if there is another story?
HerCreative Path is a podcast for female artists — the wildflowers creating, dreaming and growing in their own direction.
My name is Julia and I am an artist, poet and fellow wildflower walking my owncreative path alongside you.
On this podcast we talk honestly about creativity, dreams, identity, courage and what it takes to build a life that feels unmistakably your own.
You will hear solo reflections from me and conversations with creative women from aroundthe world about the beautiful parts of being an artist — and the difficultones.
Because I don't want to pretend that following a creative path is always easy.
Instead, I want us to ask: What might be possible if we tried anyway?
This is a place to question the stories we've inherited, reconnect with the dreams that keep calling our names and listen to our own voices underneath all the noisetelling us who we should be.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
There is room for you here, exactly as you are.
Bring your dreams.
Bring your ideas.
And let's see where your creative path takes you.
