The Impossible

Her Memory Lives On - My Daughter Ava’s Story - Traci Nichols, Ep. 65

Listen Later

She first noticed it when her daughter crawled up the steps and said she couldn’t walk.

Traci’s instinct knew then, it was a brain tumor.

Ava was 4 years old when she was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and terminal brain cancer, and the initial prognosis came back conclusive; there were no treatment options.

Fortunately, thanks to Traci and her husband’s quest for multiple opinions, they were able to find a clinical trial that gave them another full 2 years with their daughter.

Ava was a beautiful soul who led her own journey with the ‘frog in her brain’.

And now, Traci works every day to help mothers and children in the same position through BrAva, the organization she leads.

BrAva has raised countless funds to help families directly affected by Childhood Cancer, but they also provide an invaluable support network for these families.

Traci has experienced the most difficult pain anyone could ever endure and found a path to use it to change the lives of so many others.

She and her husband are happily married and Ava now has a younger brother and sister.

And all of them know…her Memory will never be forgotten.
