  • The Surprise Debate: Why Some People Love Them and Others Can’t Stand Them

Do you love surprises, or do they make you want to run the other way?

In this lighthearted episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia Knego share why one of them can't stand surprises while the other lives for them. Olivia lets listeners in on her plan to surprise her younger sister Mili with Olivia Rodrigo concert tickets, and the two swap stories about family secret-keeping, once-in-a-lifetime moments worth skipping class for, and the stress that comes from always needing a plan.

Along the way, they dig into what our feelings about surprises reveal about control, and why loosening your grip on certainty can make room for more joy, connection, and confidence.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways

Notice where your need for control is adding stress to your life.

Let go of searching for certainty and see how much lighter you feel.

Say yes to once-in-a-lifetime experiences. You'll remember them far longer than what you missed.

Respect that people are wired differently. Some love surprises and some need a plan.

Practice letting others do things their way instead of taking over.

Give yourself grace. Growth is a daily practice, and nobody's perfect.

  • Three Generations, Same Fight: AI Bias, Women's Confidence, and a Seat at the Table

What happens when the AI tools we rely on start echoing the same biases women have been pushing against for generations?

In this episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia Knego unpack a John Hopkins’ study showing that prompts written in language patterns associated with women produced less formal, less sophisticated writing.

They talk about hedging, saying please and thank you to AI, and why fixing the bias should be the responsibility of AI developers. From women filling law and medical school classrooms while holding only 19% of CEO roles, to celebrating women for their accomplishments beyond being "the first," this conversation is a reminder that your voice and your confidence belong to you.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways
    • Notice the hedges and qualifiers you use in your prompts, emails, and conversations.
    • Review and edit everything AI writes for you before you send it.
    • Keep your own word choices and use AI as a tool to support your thinking.
    • Adjust your AI settings so you get direct, honest feedback.
    • Celebrate women for what they accomplish, beyond being "the first female."
    • Remember you have the power over how you show up and communicate.

  • What Does it Take to Reach the TOP of Your Mountain?
What does it really take to climb a mountain, write a bestseller, and finally believe you're enough?

In this special episode recorded live at the Nashville launch of REAL Confidence, Simone sits down with her publisher, Allie, just days after the book hit #35 on the USA Today bestseller list.

Simone shares why she said yes to Kilimanjaro at 42 with no climbing experience and six kids at home, what it took to get truly vulnerable on the page, and how the REAL Method® helps you respect yourself, embrace your failures, ask yourself what you want, and live without limits. Plus live audience Q&A, her Control Alt Delete mindset hack, and yes, the famous pink pee funnel story.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways
    • Take action before you feel ready. Confidence grows from doing.
    • Remember that self-care is never selfish.
    • Treat confidence as a skill you build with practice, like a language or a workout.
    • Pay attention to the words you say to yourself. The people around you are listening.
    • Use Control Alt Delete: notice the thought, tell yourself a better story, and delete what doesn't serve you.
    • Stop waiting for someone else's permission. Tell yourself, "Yes, I can."
    • Support the authors you love with a quick review. It takes 30 seconds and makes a real difference.

  • Real Confidence, Live: Surviving Failure, Letting Go of Regret, and Finding Your People
What does it really take to keep going when life knocks you off track?

Recorded live in front of an audience, this episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence has Olivia putting Simone in the hot seat about REAL Confidence, from losing everything flipping houses to the grandmother whose resilience broke barriers in medicine.

Together they share the family rule of feeling your feelings and then moving forward, the Starbucks drive-thru moment when Mili told Simone to reread her own book, and Olivia's openness about living with Crohn's. It's a warm, funny, honest reminder that failing doesn't make you a failure, and the people who are your people will accept you exactly as you are.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways
    • Treat failure as a learning process and ask, "What did I learn?"
    • Say yes to the things that scare you, because you won't grow if you don't try.
    • Remember that "no" is a full sentence.
    • Give yourself a set time to feel your emotions, then choose to move forward.
    • Let go of "what will other people think?" They're busy with their own lives.
    • Share what you're struggling with. Saying it out loud can open doors and help others.
    • Surround yourself with people who accept you exactly as you are.

  • Courage Before Confidence: Stephanie Richardson on Jumping First and Building Your Wings on the Way Down
What if courage has to come before confidence, not after?

In this episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia sit down with Stephanie Richardson, a public speaking and executive coach, certified world class speaking coach, and international best-selling author of The Power of Coaching, Volume 2. A former licensed professional counselor with a master's in psychology, Stephanie brings a rare mix of clinical training and real world grit to the conversation, sharing why comfort keeps more people stuck than fear does, how to take your next best step instead of waiting to see the whole staircase, and why reframing a negative thought with real evidence can change the story you tell yourself.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways

Start Small: Take small, low-stakes risks. Confidence comes from reps, not from waiting until you feel ready.

Find Your Next Best Step: You don't need the whole staircase mapped out. Just identify the one next step you're willing to take.

Jump and Build Your Wings on the Way Down: You can learn as you go. Waiting to know everything before you move only keeps you stuck.

Surround Yourself with People Moving Forward: The people around you shape what feels normal. Seek out relationships that push you, not just ones that feel comfortable.

Catch and Reframe the Story: When a negative thought shows up, name it, flip it to the opposite, and back it up with real evidence.

  • The Body Doesn't Lie: Intuition, Alignment, and Real Confidence
What happens when your body forces you to stop pushing?

In this episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia sit down with Michelle Scott, an executive and intuitive leadership coach with over 15 years of experience helping high-impact leaders lead from clarity instead of pressure. Michelle shares how a hyperthyroidism diagnosis became the wake-up call that led her to spiritual psychology, deep inner work, and a completely different relationship with herself.

Together they unpack losing yourself in motherhood and caregiving, why awareness is the first step to change, how to actually trust your intuition (and what it feels like when you override it), and why real confidence has nothing to do with being the loudest in the room. It's a candid conversation about self-respect, self-love, and learning to listen to the signals your body has been sending all along.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways

Listen to Your Body: Exhaustion, illness, and stress are often nudges you've been ignoring. Don't wait for a crisis to pay attention.

Know What Brings You Joy: Losing yourself often starts with losing track of what you actually enjoy. Keep that top of mind, even as priorities shift.

Practice Intuition Intentionally: Everyone has intuition. The work is noticing when your mind overrides your gut, and leaning in instead of dismissing it.

Have the Hard Conversation: Avoiding discomfort now often creates bigger problems later. Say the thing, kindly and clearly.

Redefine Confidence: Confidence isn't volume or ego. It's authentic, built through inner work, and shows up as knowing you'll be okay.

    ✨ About Michelle Scott

Michelle Scott is an executive and intuitive leadership coach with over 15 years of experience helping high-impact leaders lead from clarity and alignment instead of pressure and old patterns. She holds a doctorate in spiritual science and blends strategy with soul in her work.

Michelle's own turning point came in 2009, when she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, an autoimmune condition that forced her to slow down after years of pushing herself to exhaustion. That diagnosis led her to a spiritual psychology program in 2010, and by mid-2011 she was symptom-free and off all medication. The deep inner work she did along the way reshaped how she leads, coaches, and shows up in her own life.

Today, Michelle works with corporate leaders and individuals to help them tune into their intuition, build authentic confidence, and lead from a place of self-trust rather than pressure.

  • New Season, New Beginnings: Life's Next Chapter

What does a new beginning actually look like when you're not forcing it?

In this episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia Knego catch up after a week off to talk about the flood of new beginnings hitting their family all at once, from Mili heading to college in DC and Noah trading a four-year degree for welding school, to Emma's move from Wales to Scotland and Simone easing into her next season as a postmenopausal, semi-empty-nest grandmother.

Along the way they dig into why late-summer change feels more organic than a January resolution, the freedom of not reinventing yourself just because the calendar flips, and how a new hobby (hello, raised-bed gardening) can be its own small fresh start.

It's a candid, funny conversation about letting change be positive, even when it's a little bittersweet.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways
    • You don't have to reinvent yourself for a new beginning to count.
    • Let go of guilt over what you didn't get to; focus on what's next.
    • Take advantage of where you live instead of waiting for a trip to explore.
    • Try something new just for you, even if it seems small (like a garden).
    • Reframe uncertainty as the space where new things happen.
    • Focus on what you still have and can do, not what's changed or been lost.

  • Adulting: A Mother-Daughter Raw & Real Look
What does it actually mean to "adult"?

In this candid mother-daughter episode of Her Unshakeable Confidence, Simone and Olivia Knego swap adulting horror stories and hard-won lessons, from laundry mishaps and grocery store avoidance to the real cost of chasing the cheapest option. They dig into the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge, and land on a bigger truth: nobody has it figured out, and certainty is a myth.

Confidence in adulthood isn't about knowing everything; it's about learning to take things one step at a time.

    ✅ Actionable Takeaways

Do life's practical tasks often (laundry, cooking) so they stay manageable instead of overwhelming

Weigh cost versus value, not just price, when making decisions

Choose direct routes and simpler paths when the time saved outweighs the money saved

Accept that theoretical knowledge only becomes useful once you practice it yourself

Let go of the need for certainty. Nobody truly knows what they're doing

Take adulting one step at a time instead of trying to master it all at once
