Living in 5 different Continents, 8 different Countries & 13 different Cities: How I Learnt to Rebuild Myself From Scratch Over And Over Again.
A little about me. My life journey to being 51 and living in my dream place.
Early years
- Born in Nottingham, England with my identical twin sister.
- Age 5 my family and I moved to Zimbabwe Africa for my father's work.
- We went to junior school there but I can’t remember much about that. We moved back to England after a couple of years.
Teen years
- At the age of 12 we moved to Singapore for my father's work.
- I can honestly say this time of my childhood was the most fondest memories I have.
- My sister and I went to the United World College of South East Asia.
- We had friends from all over the world. - from Australia, America, Indonesia, Japan, England
- I had my first kiss at a disco night at United World College with an English guy called Matthew Humphries whom I had a big crush on.
- We would go to the big hotels for Sunday brunch’s, we would go to Dad's bosses house for parties, Christmases. This is were I learnt about entertaining from the beautiful Anne & Mike. They would throw the best parties.
20’s
- I left England when I was 19 to go over to KL Malaysia to visit mum and dad over there and never came back to England. This was the start of my new journey in life.
- I met my husband in the 2nd week of my stay in KL at a party, a few people there said sparks flew when we locked eyes.
- We dated for a year and I lived with my parents over in KL and then we got engaged and I moved in with the cute Aussie guy from Tasmania.
- The cute Aussie guy from Tasmania moved to Bangkok Thailand in early 1997 and got married in Bali in the March with 30 friends and family around us. So much fun. That’s back when Bali was not as touristy as it is now.
- We lived in Bangkok for 2 years.
- In 1998 we moved to Puerto Rico and lived in the tourist area. I was an extra in a movie there with Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman called Under Suspicion. I was in the carnival scenes.
- We were only there for 8 months.
- After Puerto Rico we moved to Vancouver, Canada and we were there for 2 years.
- We had New Years eve 1999 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Whistler (the ski resort).
- We visited Lake Louise, Banff, the beautiful wineries in the Okanagan region of British Columbia, we went to many ice hockey games, our team was the Vancouver Canucks.
- I fell pregnant with Jack in the last year of us being in Vancouver. He was born in the September of 2000. Baby Canuck.
- We went back to Asia and to Penang in Malaysia where we lived for 2 years. There was an Australian RAF base in Penang so we met so many Aussies which was lovely.
- In 2023 we decided to move back to Australia and settle here. We moved to Sydney for a few years. Jack started school in Sydney and our daughter Haylee was born here.
30’s
- Our next move was a little place called Pottsville in Northern NSW. I little town not far from the QLD border. We had lots of fun in Pottsville going to the beach and Byron Bay was just down the road.
- Then after 9 months we made the move to Brisbane and settled in a place called Cleveland. I felt like I had found my home here in Brisbane. We lived here for 3 years, I loved our life in Brisbane, had lots of beautiful friends.
- Our next move was to Adelaide we lived in Unley Park and by this time both the kids were at school. Haylee was in reception and Jack was in Junior school.
- A couple of years later we decided to move back to Brisbane, buy a house and settle down because Jack was about to start high school and Haylee was in junior school.
- We lived in beautiful Wellington Point and we were there for 5 years.
- During this time my husband Paul worked fly in fly out for those 5 years so was definitely a time for me to step up and take control.
40’s
- 23rd December 2017 a couple of days before Christmas we moved to Melbourne and we were there for 6 years. We didn’t know anyone in Melbourne so we were starting a fresh.
- So many things happened during this time. Jack started his flying career, Haylee started High school.
- We went through 2 years of covid in Melbourne ….. no comment !!!!!!
- I started my Tony Robbins life coaching course.
- Became a Certified NLP Practitioner (Neuro-Linguistic Programming).
- Became a Time Line Therapy & Hypnotherapy Certified Practitioner.
- Became Reiki Level 1 Energy healing practitioner.
- Became an Angel Healing Therapist Certified Practitioner.
- I worked for a Chinese Medicine clinic and a Chiropractor.
- I made some dear friends in Melbourne who I am stem in touch with.
- Went to the Tennis in the corporate box, lots of AFL corporate, missed out going to the Melbourne Cup, went to many musical theatre shows, saw Robby Williams, Hugh Jackman, went to Football end of season dinners, saw Megan & Harry when they came to Melbourne,
- There were many highs and many lows in that 6 years, I think more than any time in my life.
- On 29th December 2023 we left Melbourne for a new start in Brisbane again. In one way I was so excited in another way my heart was broken.
- Jack came with us to Brisbane but Haylee stayed in Melbourne, it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Leave my child and move somewhere without her.
- For me it was the best decision, I was so ready to leave Melbourne.
- We settled down, reconnected with old friends and life was pretty quiet for a little while.
- I started studying astrology and became hooked.
- We moved to the Gold Coast and Jack moved to Horn Island to pursue his career.
- In April 2026 my dream came true and we moved to Noosa to finally settle down and create the life we have been dreaming of for so many years.......
