In this moving episode of "Everyday people like you and me", we meet Digen, a young man from Eritrea who has been living in Switzerland for seven years. His story is an impressive testimony to resilience, hope and the power of the human spirit.

Digen, who studied economics and computer science in Basel, is now on the threshold of his professional career. His motivation? To show his two sons that you should follow your dreams. He gives us fascinating insights into his native Eritrea - from the cycling culture, which dates back to the Italian colonial era, to the beauty of the capital and the Red Sea coast.

But Digen's path was not easy. He lost his father in the war and his wife to death. As a single father, he copes with everyday life with the support of his friend Betty. Despite these strokes of fate, or perhaps because of them, Digen has developed a remarkable resilience.

He describes his experiences in Switzerland as positive and appreciates the peace and quiet of the country. At the same time, he dreams of one day bringing his knowledge back to his home country.

Digen's final message to us all is powerful and inspiring.

This episode reminds us that resilience comes not only from challenges, but also from the determination to keep going and pursue your dreams despite everything
