Everything about the Covid-19 pandemic seems unfair.  Why should the health of men be more endangered by the disease than women’s health?  And why does the pandemic seem to target the poor and the non-White?  And why and how do the social and economic aspects of the global outbreak work so selectively against women.  Economist Matthias Doepke of Northwestern University was one of the first scholars to ask those questions, about women’s extra burdens at home and from job losses in the workplace.
