Typical of our times, the issue of policing in the wake of the George Floyd death in Minneapolis has been dominated by the extreme options of de-funding or reinforced funding.  But Matt Vasilogambros of Stateline.org says there’s another option, turning over some present police tasks to community service workers.  It’s worked for 31 years in Eugene, Oregon, and it’s about to be tried in Denver, San Francisco and right here in Albuquerque.
