Elizabeth Debicki is equally impressive. Her portrayal of megalomaniacal filmmaker Elizabeth Bender is so intriguing that I wish the movie had concentrated more on her and her connection with Maxine, the lead actress in her horror picture The Puritan II, instead of everything else that happens. As Detectives Williams and Torres, respectively, Michelle Monaghan and Bobby Cannavale, who are looking into the unexplained murders of sex workers connected to Maxine, round out the supporting ensemble. Maxine's agent, Teddy Night, is portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito. He is both lovable and despicable due to his shady charm. Lily Collins, Sophie Thatcher from "Yellowjackets," and Halsey all give "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" performances. Even if Halsey's position was partially justified, it didn't seem essential to give such well-known actors unimportant roles.
